Dell Data Breach
Dell has reported a significant data breach affecting approximately 49 million customers.
What Happened? An unauthorized party gained access to a Dell customer database containing names, physical addresses, and details of hardware purchases. The breach occurred between 2017 and 2024. To date, we are not aware of any GreenLoop clients being targeted as a result of this breach.
What Information Was Involved? The exposed information includes customer names, physical addresses, and Dell hardware and order details. Importantly, no financial data, email addresses, or telephone numbers were compromised.
What is Dell Doing Dell has initiated an investigation, implemented security measures, and is working with law enforcement. They are also engaging with a third-party forensics firm to further analyze the incident.
What You Can Do Stay vigilant for phishing attempts that may use the stolen information. Be cautious of unsolicited communications asking for personal or financial details, and do not insert unknown flash drives into your devices.
